Sara Mathew is a Boston based costume designer for opera and theatre. She is currently studying at Boston University where she graduates May 2026 with a Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design. Sara grew up surrounded by various forms of visual art, a background that is evident in every design and rendering. She blends her love for visual art with a keen eye for detail, creating costumes that not only adorn but also tell compelling stories.

Sara graduated from the University of Evansville in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre Design and Technology, and a minor in Studio Art. Since graduating she has worked at Stages St. Louis, The American Repertory Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company.
